Barca still keen on Captain Cesc

Spanish champions Barca are hoping to tempt the star midfielder back to Camp Nou, but admit negotiations with Arsenal could be difficult.

“We are being prudent in the sense that we are not going to do things that are not logical,” said Laporta.

“We have a player who has expressed his intention of coming to Barcelona.

“He (Fabregas) has said it and I want to thank him publicly for that decision.”

The skipper is contracted to the Gunners until 2015, meaning Barca would face a tough job in trying to sign him.

“We are working on it,” said Laporta. “We will try to achieve his signature and if we don’t get there with time, at least we will have opened a path.

“The possibility is always there but the other part (Arsenal) has to defend their interests and perhaps has a different strategy.

“We are trying to find a halfway point for both sides to agree.”

Why they don’t leave our players alone ???!!! :-(

Captain – Future out of my hands

Sky Sports - The playmaker is understood to have told the Gunners last week that he wants to secure a move back to old club Barcelona over the summer.

While the Catalans have made contact with Arsenal regarding the midfielder, Fabregas admits he does not know where he will be playing next term.

The Spanish international made no guarantees he would be a Gunner and he is instead focusing on helping his country lift the World Cup in South Africa this summer.

Speaking from the Spanish training camp, Fabregas told Sky Sports News: “I will only say one thing, I have great respect for Arsene Wenger, for Arsenal football club and for the Arsenal fans.

“Sometimes not even in my house I felt more love than I felt at Arsenal.

“I had a long conversation with Arsene, it was probably the “I will only say one thing, I have great respect for Arsene Wenger, for Arsenal football club and for the Arsenal fans.

“He told me to concentrate on my football, he told me to concentrate on the World Cup, he told me to leave it in his hands, he will deal with whatever happens in my future and that’s what I’m doing, just concentrating on football.

“It’s not up to me anymore and it’s just now about Arsenal and wherever it has to be and that’s it.

“I don’t want to say anything else, I just want to be focused for the World Cup because it is the most important thing – the rest is the future and I’m not interested in the future.”

I don’t know what to say :-( Everything is very painful :-( I want Wenger  not to let him go :-(

BTW he looks very lovely with stubble ! :-D I love it ! :D

Welcome Marouane :D

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Morocco international striker Marouane Chamakh on a long-term contract from Bordeaux.  :-D Chamakh has long been expected to join the Gunners and will arrive at Emirates Stadium on a free transfer at the end of his Bordeaux deal.

The 26-year-old has been a consistent scorer for the 2009 French champions and will bolster Arsene Wenger’s attacking options for next season.

Wenger is delighted to have wrapped up the capture of Chamakh and is confident the forward will be a success in the Premier League.

“We are delighted that Marouane Chamakh has joined us,” Wenger told the club’s official website.

“He is a player we have admired for some time now and I know he will provide our squad with great quality.

“Chamakh has proved he is a great player with his performances for Bordeaux and Morocco in recent seasons and we’re all looking forward to him joining us.

“Chamakh is a striker of real quality and has all the attributes suited to come to England and do very well.

“He is also a fighter, not only a good football player, but a fighter as well. He is very good in the air and also a good team player. He is a great addition to our squad.”

Chamakh had been a target for several clubs across the continent, but revealed that his first choice was always to secure a move to Arsenal.

He said: “This is a dream come true and a great joy to be joining Arsenal. My goal was always to play in the Premier League and Arsenal was the choice of my heart.

“Without any hesitation, Arsenal was my preferred club. The team and history of Arsenal, they make me dream.

“My goal was to join Arsenal out of the all the English clubs because it is a club that makes me dream and I have been a fan since I was a child.

“I’m very excited about playing at Emirates Stadium in front of the Arsenal supporters. I have heard many great things about the stadium and I cannot wait to be playing there in an Arsenal shirt.”

Welcome To your dreamy club Marouane  :-D

Cesc wants out of Arsenal !!!????

Bad news guys :-( Captain wants to leave ! :-(   :-(

Cesc Fabregas is understood to have told Arsene Wenger he wants to leave Arsenal in order to rejoin Barcelona as president Joan Laporta hints at making a bid.

Writing in Spanish newspaper AS, Guillem Balague has revealed that Fabregas has flown in to London from Barcelona to discuss his future at Emirates Stadium with Wenger.

Fabregas recently revealed that he does want to play for former club Barca one day and is keen for his future to be resolved before representing Spain at the World Cup finals.

It now appears that the midfielder is ready to ask for permission to join the newly-crowned Primera Liga champions next season and a fee is likely to be in the region of £30-35million.

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Laporta has suggested it may be the right time to bid for the 23-year-old following Fabregas’ comments at a promotional event last week.

The Arsenal captain, who was plucked from Barca’s youth ranks in 2003, had said, ‘I think I would like to go to Barcelona, whether or not they want me is another thing’.

Laporta was surprised by Fabregas’ frankness and reckons it is worth considering a move for the influential midfielder.

“It is remarkable that the player has said that,” he told the club’s official website.

“If the technical secretary [Txiki Begiristain] believes we must make an effort, we will do and will talk to Arsenal.”

But  Chairman insists skipper is not for sale

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood claims the club have no intention of selling captain Cesc Fabregas.

The Spanish midfielder is reported to have told the Gunners that he wants to rejoin boyhood idols Barcelona this summer.

It is claimed that the creative midfielder has already informed Arsene Wenger of his wishes and hopes the French coach will grant him the opportunity to seal a dream move to Camp Nou.

Fabregas began his career in the youth ranks at Barcelona, before being snapped up by Arsenal while still in his teens.

He quickly progressed into the first-time fold with the Gunners and has been a regular part of Wenger’s plans for the last six years.

Speculation regarding a return his roots has been building for some time, though, with the 23-year-old admitting he would relish the opportunity to turn out for Barcelona at some stage.

It appears that time has come, with Fabregas revealing that the prospect of winning major trophies in Catalunya would be too good to turn down should Barca make their move.

Having opened the door to Pep Guardiola’s side, it is expected to be only a matter of time before Arsenal’s resolve is tested with a big money bid.

For now, though, the Gunners maintain that they have no desire to listen to offers for their skipper, with Hill-Wood attempting to reassure the club’s supporters by insisting that Fabregas is not for sale.

“We are not remotely interested in selling him,” he said in the Daily Star. It’s so hard & unblievable 4 me .I can’t imagine AFC without Captain Cesc. :-( :-(  tell me your thoughts  .

Marouane Chamakh is counting the days till Arsenal move

The Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh says he is “counting the days” until completing his free transfer to Arsenal, and says he will prove he was worth the wait.

The Morocco international has been a long-term target for Arsenal, having almost moved to the Emirates Stadium last summer. The 26-year-old, who has 15 goals for the French club this season, is expected to sign a £50,000-a-week contract.

“I count the days, 11 short days. As time passes, it feels weird. I feel many emotions,” Chamakh told the French newspaper L’Equipe.

“I am delighted to join the English football atmosphere, it is something amazing. I love Arsenal’s game. I know I will have to adapt but I know the short passing game.

“In February, I made my decision. A departure clause [in a potential new Bordeaux contract] was not logical after refusing Arsenal last summer.”

Chamakh has been with Bordeaux for a decade and helped them reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

“For my last matches with Bordeaux I can feel a lot of emotion, but I am leaving for a new challenge. At Bordeaux I was the club’s child. In London, I won’t be a kid anymore. I have grown, I have things to prove and I am motivated to achieve it.”

The forward maintained he had rejected several other offers to sign for Arsenal. “There were approaches from Liverpool, Tottenham and crazy offers from Russia which were much greater than those from England, but I was focused on playing in the Premier League,” said Chamakh.

“I took a risk to stay with one year left on my contract, but I never cheated, I gave myself thoroughly”

Should Manchester City and Spurs draw tonight, then Arsenal would be guaranteed third place, and with it automatic entry in the group stages of next season’s Champions League. Nevertheless, the Arsenal manager knows he faces a challenge to strengthen the squad in key areas over the summer.

Chamakh’s arrival will take care of the attack, and may even lead to the departure of Eduardo, while the Nice striker Loïc Rémy has made no secret of his desire to join the Gunners.

The goalkeeping position has come under scrutiny in recent weeks with Lukasz Fabianski a target for Blackburn. The Manchester City keeper Joe Hart has been linked, and the Italian veteran Gianlugi Buffon has indicated he would be open to a switch to England were the chance to arise.

In defence, meanwhile, Wenger has yet to resolve contract issues with William Gallas, Mikaël Silvestre and Sol Campbell.

Wenger accepts his squad does need additions, but maintains pulling off another transfer success like last summer’s purchase of the Belgian centre-half Thomas Vermaelen will be no easy task.

“It is not any more as it was 15 or 20 years ago – everybody knows everybody now. It is more about shrewd buying now in taking a gamble than in discovering somebody.”

Welcome Marouane :-D   I wish u have good years with Gunners & win the title  :-D
